Outreach Ministries

“When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ he said, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs’ (John 21:15).”

Perhaps the most important question Christ asks the disciples that planted the community of faith called Highland Drive Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is: “Do you love me?” The passage of time has not made this question any more relevant in the lives of the disciples that continue to worship and serve God in this place. Nor, has the passage of time changed our answer.

Jesus has called us to feed His lambs, take care of His sheep, and to feed His sheep. Since its inception, this has been the focal point of the mission and ministry of Highland Drive Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is our love of Christ that keeps us committed to this mission through the various ministries ordained by God for this community of faith. Through them, we seek to reflect the love of God through Jesus Christ, making Highland Drive Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) a “Place to Worship AND a Place to Serve!”

A few of the ministries we actively support are:

Helping Neighbors Food Pantry, Heifer International, Water at Work, Samaritan’s Purse, Project 50/50, and the various ministries of the Great River Regions of the Christian Church (DOC).
